FOLLOWING SIX PROSTITUTION ARRESTS AT A LOCAL HOTEL, POLICE CHIEF WARNS OF THE DANGERS OF INTERNET & NEWSPAPER ESCORT SERVICES
(10/29/2008) NEW HAVEN- The ninth in a series of stings by New Haven Police as part of a Prostitution Reduction Initiative yielded eight arrests, yesterday in the City. The Gun Unit and Firearms Unit conducted a prostitution sting utilizing a member of the Gun Unit posing as a "John". The sting was done utilizing a local hotel (which will remain unnamed for the purposes of the investigation and subsequent investigations) after contacting women who publicized their “services” through various advertisements through the internet and local newspapers.
Police Chief James Lewis warns residents against the dangers of “escort” and “companionship” advertisements available on the internet and in local newspapers stating that in many instances, the individuals offering their “services” are really planning to set up their callers to steal from them or otherwise jeopardize their safety.
The following individuals were arrested for the charge of Prostitution:
1) Sarah Hesse, dob 09/29/78, 49 Clifton Street, Wallingford
2) Rose Franceschetti, dob 11/17/55, 13 Horseshoe Dr, Meriden
3) Jammie Malik, dob 11/13/79, 47 Thill St, West Haven
4) Pheadra Dicala, dob 10/11/82, 36 Peck Ave, West Haven
5) Roseina Spencer, dob 08/31/79, 220 Ashmun Street, New Haven
Spencer also had five (5) outstanding warrants on file including one warrant each in: Milford, Hamden and Orange as well as two from Connecticut State Police. The five warrants were for a variety of charges including larceny and fraud.
6) Ebony Smith, dob 12/08/83, 60 Donna Drive, New Haven.
